Hello, my name is Amber Ferguson, my pronouns are she/her/hers, and I am so excited to work with you. I am a Licensed Resident Counselor and a recent graduate from Radford University, where I received my M.S. degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I have previously worked in health care, emergency, social and community services. I have worked with adult populations experiencing addiction, recovery, codependency, depression, anxiety, stress, life transitions, grief, trauma, and relationship issues. I am an LGBTQ+ ally and embrace, honor, and incorporate my client’s cultural and religious identities in our work together. I utilize various techniques based on my client’s needs, emphasizing the client-therapist relationship as this can be the most helpful tool to bring about change. I believe in providing a non-judgmental space that allows my clients to feel empowered, motivated, supported, and cared for using approaches encompassing self-compassion, mindfulness, healthy communication, healthy coping mechanisms, and strengths-based and skill-based techniques.
