Frani Gallagher is a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) who has extensive experience working with children, adolescents, and adults with depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, family stress, parenting, attachment associated with adoption, and difficult life transitions. Frani has a Master of Social Work degree from Virginia Commonwealth University and a B.A. in psychology and family science from the University of Maryland, College Park. She has experience working in myriad settings, including a therapeutic foster care agency, a therapeutic day private school, and a domestic violence shelter. In addition, Frani has over six years of postgraduate experience working at an acute psychiatric hospital as a clinical therapist and has also served as interim social work director.
Frani specializes in supporting individuals and families in a collaborative fashion by providing interventions tailored to the individual needs of each client. Her therapeutic approach ranges from short-term therapy, specifically cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), to more long-term individual and family work. She provides a nurturing, interactive, and engaging environment for her clients to help them gain a stronger sense of self and navigate through their life stressors. In family work, she provides strategies that will help resolve conflict and improve communication to strengthen the family unit. She looks forward to engaging her clients through a process of discovering their own worth and capabilities while transforming their approaches to life’s challenges to instill self-assurance and, ultimately, to thrive.
