Wendy Sittner is a licensed clinical social worker who received an M.S.W. from Virginia Commonwealth University’s School of Social Work and a B.A. in psychology and Spanish from the University of Virginia. She works primarily with adolescents and young adults and provides therapy in English and Spanish. Her clinical practice is trauma-informed with a lens focused on equity. Using techniques from motivational interviewing and cognitive-behavioral therapy, Wendy also incorporates components of expressive arts Therapy. She focuses on treating anxiety, depression, PTSD, and self-injurious behaviors and has worked in settings including an acute-care psychiatric hospital, a community-based clinic, and the behavioral health department of a government agency. Wendy uses a multidimensional approach to empower clients to maximize their strengths and enhance their natural support system in order to increase self-efficacy.
