### Master of Social Work

![](https://www.columbiapsychiatry-dc.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/Image-1-28-19-at-10.23-PM_Original.jpg)

Hello! My name is Alexander, a clinician at our [Reston, VA](https://www.columbiapsychiatry-dc.com/wp-content/uploads/wp-mfa-exports/location/reston-va.md) clinic who provides [therapy](https://www.columbiapsychiatry-dc.com/psychiatric-care/mental-health-counseling-and-therapy/) services!

I have been privileged with working with children, teams, and adult adults in a variety of different settings. My goal and desire is that I can be an accompaniment to you on your journey through our time interacting. With a bachelor child development, and a Masters in social work, it’s been a joy to work with individuals and groups through conversation and collaboration. With various approaches that might be and simply cater to you or another individual, I hope my distinct approach creates a safe environment for you to communicate your thoughts and your feelings.

This a variety of different approaches, and which being used in communication to two individuals. From solution focused therapy or dialectical therapy, the goal is to be proactive in our approach with manageable goals to attain, even if that goal is simply processing our feelings.

It is important to remember that the only person that you live with for the rest of your life is yourself. While very self-centered, it’s a reminder of how often do we try to find other things or people as a place of peace than ourselves?
Let’s enjoy discovering more of who you are in the journey that you’ve made to allow both of us to be here now today.
