Emelia is a board certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner at our Bowie clinic who provides psychiatry services in-person and via telehealth.. As a nurse practitioner, Emelia works with the passion of providing care and support to clients with various needs of psychiatric and mental health issues across the lifespan. Emelia takes a holistic approach in providing care to clients and draws from her background as a nurse of 20 years. Her approach is to provide care while considering how one’s overall health and general wellbeing contributes to their mental health and wellbeing.

Emelia earned her Bachelor of Science in nursing from Trinity Washington University and her master’s in nursing in psychiatric mental health from Walden University. During her time as a clinician, Emelia carried the top goal of aiding her patients to obtain the optimal health one can achieve and this is the same goal she applies to her role as a mental health nurse practitioner. Emelia is qualified to treat all mental health problems and works to educate patients and families about mental health conditions, medications and lifestyle modifications to improve overall health. When asked about the mental health field, Emelia organizes the slow but increasing access to mental health services and looks forward to working towards dissolving the stigmas surrounding mental health disorders.
