Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor
I am a provider at our Columbia clinic who provides therapy services!
My ideal client is anyone who has called in for help. This shows insight and motivation for change. Even individuals made to go to therapy have some insight (i.e., there’s something wrong that my love one says I need to change). Further, A client such as this is exhibiting motivation to look at or improve something that would improve the relationship. Thus, we have something to work with. Additionally, I will welcome the opportunity to work with women with reproductive issues, and experiencing life stage issues related to menopause, and the aging process.
I bring an understanding and nonjudgmental approach to the therapeutic relationship. My specialty is working with individuals with behavioral disorders, substance use disorders, difficulty with life cycle changes (i.e., aging issues, menopause, retirement etc.). My approach is Humanistic with use of Motivational Interviewing and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy techniques. My role while we are working together is to be a conduit through which an individual learns to identify and modify faulted thinking and behaviors. I want to assist you in developing a sense of self-efficacy to take on life stressors.
I’m a genuine counselor in character and clinical capability. I’ve worked with some of the most difficult treatment populations and succeeded. My ability to get the job done has been proven. My ability to establish therapeutic relationships with people is key. That and my commitment to fidelity has proven to be a priceless asset. The therapeutic process can be difficult and frustrating at times. It’s hard work making changes to improve life circumstances. So, let’s go on the journey together. Bring openness and commitment to the process. I’ll bring enthusiasm and commitment to witness improvement in your quality of life!
