Resident in Counseling

My name is Isabel Prieto, and I am a Resident in Counseling at our Woodbridge, VA clinic. Life can sometimes be challenging, and it’s important to remember that support is available. When difficulties feel overwhelming, it can be hard to know where to seek help. My goal is to provide a safe and supportive environment where we can work collaboratively to facilitate positive change and help you work toward your goals. I have over three years of experience as a Registered Behavior Technician, during which I have supported clients of various ages in behavior analysis and goal development.

I specialize in working with children, adolescents, and adults, utilizing cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), attachment theory, emotional regulation strategies, and mindfulness techniques to support clients in developing resilience, achieving their therapeutic goals, and realizing their full potential.

Beyond the therapy room, I bring ten years of experience as a cheerleading coach, leading multiple competitive teams. These experiences have taught me the value of encouragement, persistence, and teamwork—values I bring into every session. Having been a lifelong cheerleader, I see it as my role to cheer you on every step of your healing journey.
