Social Work

Hello there. My name is Selah (Say-La), a Supervisee therapist at our Fairfax, VA clinic. I have experience working with children, youth, and adults in school, medical, and in-home settings. My goal is to allow my client to feel seen, heard, and understood–without judgement or personal opinion. In fact, my best approach in therapy thus far is Talk therapy and validation (feeling heard and ability to express oneself). Using a strengths-based approach and resilience building is key to overcoming your obstacles or challenges.
I can help with building self-assurance and confidence in making decisions through Behavioral Activation and Motivational Interviewing. It is important to feel heard and seen in order to build a life-long connection and trust in our therapeutic relationship.
I am mostly a listener and observer. I listen and observe before speaking, which allows space for my clients to express themselves freely and truthfully. When my clients can speak truthfully and freely, without pressure, the healing process can start.
