I am a provider at our Aldie clinic, who provides therapy services in-person and via telehealth. I have a passion for the field of mental health, which started in my 20’s, with a graduate degree in psychology. Throughout the years I did many things to include working in business management, teaching undergraduate classes and doing research. I went back to get my MSW in my 50’s, as I believed I was at the correct point to provide therapy. This is through utilizing both my education and life experience.
I work collaboratively with clients and have spent the last few years of work within acute in-patient mental health care settings and residential treatment facilities. I have experience in individualized therapy, with all developmental ages to include group therapy and crisis intervention. I have experience with application of CBT, DBT, ACT, trauma informed care, short term solution focused methods and other evidence based treatment modalities. These also include mindfulness and somatic techniques. However, I think of myself as offering tools that fit your current situation and you own choice for application.
I believe in allowing you to set your goals and to provide a service based upon meeting you where you are at in recovery. First, I want to identify your strengths within your environment, as well as aid you in setting a course for treatment goals. I have had experience working with personality disorders, mood disorders, anxiety, PTSD, childhood trauma, life transition issues, crisis intervention, and have treated most mental health issues to include those with psychotic symptoms. Overall, I am extremely dedicated to meeting clients where they are, and have strong integrity and advocacy for patient rights. I believe that strengths within ourselves, our environment and community resources, aid in recovery. My goal is to provide unconditional support and acceptance. My motto is to guide you and support you through teaching, guiding, listening and provision of resources.
