Rodney LaMar Horton, Jr., LMSW

I am a provider at our North Bethesda clinic who provides therapy services in-person and via telehealth. Do you feel like you can’t stay focused and everything distracts you? Are you struggling to connect with your parents or family? You may be someone who wishes to resolve relationship disagreements. Regardless of your background, story, or reason for seeking therapy, I am committed to being a listening ear and an empowering presence. I am Rodney Horton, Jr., and I aim to assist you with personal, familial, and relationship struggles. No problem is too big to handle when you have help, and I would be honored to offer that help. The focus is on you and what you need, however, I would like to briefly introduce myself.

I graduated from the University of Maryland School of Social Work with my Masters of Social Work degree this year. Since 2019, I have been working with adolescents and young adults, providing PTSD counseling to Veterans, and even working in hospice and hospital settings. No matter your age or walk of life, I am determined to be a change agent in your life. I hope you choose to schedule a session with me!

I will help you by providing a listening ear, leaning on your strengths, and exploring the goals you want to meet. I specialize in mood disorders, family and relationships, and personal struggles. If you work with me, I will assist with locating community resources and developing a strategic plan to ensure your success in the areas of life you wish to discuss. You will be empowered when you work with me and your strengths will always be leaned on to assist in other areas of life.

I have struggled with various mental health, stress, and family issues. I may not know you yet, but I know I will provide a safe space where you can be vulnerable. My life experience provides me with a unique perspective to connect with you and understand what your are going through on a deeper level. When you come to therapy, you should feel supported and understood, what better way to do that than with someone who can see your perspective or even understand it without judgment? I would love to meet with you and begin to establish a therapeutic relationship.
