Resident in Counseling

Greetings! My name is Jordan Brown (she/her), and I am a Resident in Counseling in Virginia, offering therapy services at the Alexandria office.

I have experience in outpatient settings with adolescents and adults, particularly in college mental health settings. I specialize in mood disorders, low self-esteem, interpersonal challenges, life transitions, and trauma. My approach is strengths-based, trauma-informed, and relational, grounded in a person-centered foundation and informed by CBT, ACT, mindfulness, and womanist perspectives. I aim to create a space where you do not have to perform and can show up as your authentic self.

I support clients in building self-awareness, self-compassion, coping skills, and resilience. Do you feel stuck in your relationship with yourself or others? I work with you to explore this and identify pathways toward meaningful change. My aim is to bear witness to and contextualize your lived experience and empower you to live more meaningfully.

In counseling with me, you are in the driver’s seat. Our work is collaborative and growth-oriented: exploring patterns, beliefs, or ways of being that no longer serve you and building strategies for change. I am honored to witness & support your healing. También hablo español y doy la bienvenida a quienes se sientan más cómodos en español o Spanglish.

Please note that when communicating with our intake team over the phone, all calls will start in English. Translation services will be offered once you connect with a member of our intake team.
