Hello, my name is Todd Christiansen and I am an experienced child, adolescent, and adult psychiatrist. I approach patients as people with their own histories, experiences, beliefs, traumas, and stories. we are more than just diagnoses and checklists. My job as a psychiatrist is to learn about you, understand you, and then develop a treatment plan that makes sense. While I know medication and appropriate prescribing guidelines, I am not in your shoes nor experience the good and bad sides of medication. So this is a team approach in developing and implementing any treatment plan.

My experience and expertise is in child and adolescent and adult psychiatry. This means assessment and diagnosis, treatment, medication management, and some forms of therapy. I also have a forensic psychiatry background and have extensive experience with IEP/504, student support teams.

I am originally from Wisconsin, am married and have 3 children, 3 dogs, and one bird. I enjoy music, outdoor activities, and travel. I am a firm believer in the need to experience and gracefully live with our emotions and view my role as a psychiatrist with medication to allow us to live with ourselves and our emotions in a way that is not overwhelming.
