Mental Health Treatment at Columbia Mental Health

Our teams at Columbia Mental Health partner with clients through the course of evaluation and treatment. We consider all aspects of a person’s life, partnering with primary care physicians, schools, and other clinicians to coordinate care. This includes therapy, psychiatric care, interventional psychiatry and even support through inpatient hospitalizations. This support across the lifespan allows us to understand client needs, provide the most effective treatment options, and support our clients in their efforts toward improving their overall mental wellbeing. Our diverse provider base comes from many different backgrounds and speaks many different languages so that we can reflect our communities. We understand that financial and insurance considerations impact health care decisions so all of our teams are working towards making care more accessible.

Treatment begins with a call to our dedicated intake teams who can help navigate insurance coverage to find the best fit for your treatment goals. Then there is typically an initial evaluation appointment and further recommendations, which often combine psychotherapy and medication for complete care, as well as exercise and relaxation techniques. Psychotherapy may include individual, group, or play therapy with family involvement to enhance understanding and improve relationships. We also take the time to educate clients about the consequences of hormonal imbalances, poor nutrition, and other factors that may worsen physical or emotional ailments.

Since the client’s situation often impacts those around them, we provide support for family members as well. This often involves educating them about mental illness and teaching them how to work with the patient to overcome relationship and communication challenges. Our goal is to provide mental health care to those struggling with adverse symptoms as well as support for those who care about them.

Our mission is to transform lives. If you’re interested in learning more about our services and the mental health conditions we treat, please don’t hesitate to call us at 703.682.8208.
