We’re thrilled to share some exciting news with you. Columbia Associates is now Columbia Mental Health! This new name reflects our dedication to making high-quality mental health care accessible to everyone in our communities. While our name has changed, our commitment to providing compassionate care remains as strong as ever. 

As part of our mission to continually improve your experience, we’ve made several enhancements based on the valuable feedback we’ve received from clients like you. 

Improvements We Have Made 

  • Simplified Communication: 
    Our use of the Valant MyIO portal offers a seamless way to complete intake paperwork, manage appointments, send messages to providers, and update information in just a few clicks. 
  • Enhanced Training and Collaboration: 
    We’ve added new training opportunities and team collaboration initiatives to ensure that our mental health providers are equipped to provide the clinically excellent care to our clients. 
  • Extended Hours and Flexible Appointments: 
    We’ve added in-person and telehealth hours in the morning, evening, and weekends to meet the needs of children, parents, and working adults at a time most convenient for them. 
  • Expanded Psychiatric Care Team: 
    We’ve added more psychiatric providers to ensure that clients who are receiving medications as a part of their mental health journey have more resources to support their needs. 
  • Insurance & Licensure Updates: 
    Our Virginia team is now in-network with all major third party payers including Medicare, Tricare and Medicaid. We have also added multi-state licensure for many of our therapists and psychiatric providers to ensure they can serve patients throughout the DMV area. 
  • Expanding Access to Care in our Region: 
    To better serve our neighbors, we’re continuing to add new offices to ensure that we are local, accessible, and serving the communities in which our patients live and work. 

What’s Not Changing 

While our name and some tools are evolving, we remain committed to providing you with high-quality mental health care.  Your care team, appointments, and the personalized support you rely on remain unchanged.

Why are you changing your name?

We have made this change to represent our commitment to improve access to quality mental health care in the communities in which we serve.

Over the next few months, you will begin to see our new name on our paperwork, billing statements, website, and more. 

It is important to note that this change will not affect the care you receive in any way. There will be no changes to providers or your care team because of the name change.
