Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

I am a provider at our North Bethesda clinic who offers psychiatric services!

My ideal client is either a family or individual in need of mental health care. I don’t have a particular favorite type of client and enjoy working with patients across the lifespan and with different disorders. Having a neurodivergent child has given me an appreciation of the struggles family’s deal with when looking for services for their loved ones.

From my experience both as a parent and through years of work as first and Emergency Room Nurse and later Psychiatric NP I understand the difficulties parents face when dealing not only with our healthcare system but schools as well. Having personal experience in working with a family member who requires specialized services helps me to understand the strain family’s may be going through as they attempt look to help child navigate at times difficult situations.

I  am the father of three wonderful children, one of whom is neurodivergent. Due to the struggles to find him the type of care we felt he needed while seeking our own answers showed me a gap in mental health that I could help fill. For this reason I pursued my degree as a Psychiatric Mental Health NP. I feel it is critical that my clients realize that while they are going through a difficult time they are not alone.
