Anisha Zaman, BS

Master of Social Worker

Hi, I am Anisha, a Clinical Social Work Supervisee at our Woodbridge, VA clinic. I started working in the mental health field back in 2020, in the height of the pandemic, as a Behavioral Health Technician. I became drawn into the world of Clinical Social Work. I have worked in elementary schools, high schools, partial hospitalization programs, and non-profits, where I gained extensive experience working with diverse individuals navigating challenging situations. Some of my experiences consist of anxiety, depression, disordered eating, body image, suicidal ideations, self-harm, navigating life transitions, and bicultural identity exploration.

My therapeutic approach is rooted in offering trauma-informed care. A goal of mine is to create a space that is collaborative and person-centered. I do not believe therapy is “one-size-fits-all.” I utilize an eclectic approach where my interventions range from cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, and internal family systems.

I often tell clients to think of therapy as a journey in which they remain in the driver’s seat, while I serve as a supportive guide alongside them. My role is to help navigate challenges, explore new perspectives, and identify a path forward that aligns with their goals and values.
