Bennett Solberg, LPC, NCC, ACC

Licensed Professional Counselor

I am a clinician at our North Bethesda clinic who provides therapy services!

The ideal client is self-aware, recognizes the need for personal growth, and is motivated to change their lives. The perfect client is curious and open-minded, willing to do the work necessary, and understands that therapy is a process that takes time and not a quick fix. The ideal client respects diversity and embraces many ideas, beliefs, and values. Their issues include mild to moderate depression, anxiety, transitional and adjustment disorders. The client may have relational issues, excluding DV. The client may be in discernment regarding life issues.

I bring a thoughtful and empathetic approach to therapy, guiding clients toward healing through a blend of traditional and alternative therapeutic methods. Specializing in treating anxiety, depression, grief, relationship concerns, and sex therapy, I work with individuals and couples to navigate a variety of challenges. My work integrates cognitive-behavioral therapy with holistic approaches, including biofeedback, hypnosis, and psychophysiology, ensuring personalized care.

My background is eclectic. I served as a U.S. Naval Officer, university dean, and federal government employee before transitioning fully into mental health care. These experiences shaped my leadership skills and commitment to helping others, qualities I carry into my counseling work today.
With over 20 years of experience supporting refugees and disadvantaged communities, I am committed to creating an inclusive, welcoming space for all. As an ICF-certified coach, I empower clients to overcome challenges and lead fulfilling lives.
