Brenda Bandong, LCSW

I am a Licensed Social Worker  at our Alexandria clinic who provides therapy services in-person and via telehealth. I have many years of clinical experience providing play therapy, individual, group and family psychotherapy. My person-centered, strengths-based therapeutic framework includes developmental perspectives that is attachment and trauma-informed, and strives for cultural humility and sensitivity. I can provide brief, episodic, long term intensive treatment, and telemental-health services. I hope to develop a therapeutic alliance with clients that supports increased understanding, change, growth and progress towards their goals.

Presently, my ideal client would be an individual adult of any age trying to manage emotional, behavioral, and/or interpersonal difficulties. They are open to developing a therapeutic alliance to better understand their present struggles, identify strengths, and develop coping and problem-solving strategies to support them towards their specific treatment goals. They want psychotherapy to have the support and opportunity for reflection, increased understanding of their needs and themselves, and to work towards improved functioning, communication and social interactions.

I have many years of clinical training and experience working with individuals of all ages and in a variety of environments. I can provide person-centered, strengths-based psychotherapy within a framework of development and cultural perspectives that is attachment and trauma-informed. Therapy can also encompass evidenced-based strategies from cognitive behavioral and solution-focused therapies. Brief, episodic, long-term intensive treatment and telehealth services are available to support clients toward their goals, improved functioning, well-being, and relationships.
