Brittany Tokash, LPC-R

I am a provider at our Reston clinic who provides therapy services in-person and via telehealth. My experiences range across all ages including adolescents, younger adults, and older adults. I have counseled individuals who have experienced different forms of trauma in their lifetime. Trauma can be seen in many different forms. In addition, I also have experience working with those who have faced anxiety, depression, relationship issues, self-esteem, and life transitions. In therapy, I help individuals to learn different techniques to help with their symptoms. I use a mix of Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), values work, and establishing different coping skills/techniques that work for each unique person.

I can best benefit clients who experience or have experienced in the past relationship issues, self-esteem issues, depression, anxiety, and/or trauma. Their needs and goals might be to increase confidence and communication and manage trauma-focused symptoms. Clients that don’t want to be afraid anymore. Those who want to feel confident in themselves and their relationship with others. Individuals that do not want to worry about their symptoms taking over their lives.

I strive to provide a safe environment of empathy, support, and unconditional positive regard. I believe the most important thing in therapy is having an environment that makes you feel safe. I understand the difficulty in reaching out and asking for help, but there is no shame in it. The first step is the hardest, but also the bravest. You deserve to feel better and be the best version of yourself. During each session, it is your time and your space, and we can work on whatever you feel like talking about that day.
