Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor
I am a clinician at our Glen Burnie clinic who provides therapy services!
My ideal client is someone between the ages of 20 and 60, including females, males, and individuals from the LGBTQ+ community. They may present with issues such as anxious, avoidant, or insecure attachment styles, as well as challenges related to anxiety, depression, being a victim of narcissistic personality disorder (NPD), domestic violence trauma, or substance abuse.
This client may need support in establishing healthy boundaries, improving self-care, and gaining psychoeducation on attachment styles and pharmacology. They may also benefit from participating in support groups like NA or AA and working on building self-esteem.
The client’s goals might include learning to love themselves and finding happiness. Specific objectives could involve identifying triggers, managing anxiety, reducing symptoms of depression, replacing negative thought patterns, reframing past and present relationships, and creating a strong support network.
I can help by providing trauma-informed, person-centered care tailored to your needs. I utilize evidence-based approaches such as CBT, DBT, and Exposure Therapy to address challenges effectively. I also offer motivational interviewing to support you in making meaningful changes, while helping you identify and strengthen your support networks. Through psychoeducation, I can help you understand attachment styles, establish healthy boundaries, and manage anxiety. Additionally, I incorporate psychodynamic approaches and behavior analysis to explore underlying patterns and behaviors. If needed, I can also conduct tests and assessments to better understand and address your concerns.
I incorporate religious and spiritual counseling techniques, drawing from my education at a Christian-based university. I have experience working with individuals, children, families, and couples who are facing challenges ranging from daily stressors to severe psychological difficulties, whether at home, in the workplace, or in social settings. As a trauma-informed professional, I am dedicated to creating a safe and supportive environment for clients, especially those who are new to therapy. I am particularly passionate about working with individuals from LGBTQ and multicultural communities, and I look forward to building meaningful therapeutic relationships with my clients.
