Hello, my name is Irene Cox, and I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC). I provide therapy services at our Olney, MD clinic.

I obtained my Master of Science in Counseling degree at Johns Hopkins University, and I have over 10 years of experience with counseling diverse populations and all age groups. I display a person-centered approach, and feel that you are the expert of your life. I understand how vulnerable you may feel coming to therapy, so I believe in going at a pace that you feel comfortable and unraveling areas of distress together.

I utilize modalities such as Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and talk therapy to help you challenge negative thinking patterns, learn emotion-regulation skills, and to aid you in the process of change. I believe it is essential that you feel heard, valued, and supported throughout your therapeutic journey.

I understand that life can bring up some unwanted experiences and stressors, but I am here to help you navigate them and to live the life that you are seeking. I will be your advocate, confidant, and helper throughout your journey. I look forward to working with you!
