Resident in Counseling
Hello Family, my name is Jamere Woody. I am a Resident in Counseling at our Reston clinic.
I have experience working with teens and adults in outpatient, residential, and crisis settings. Helping my clients understand the mind-body connection is one of my priorities. I am eclectic in nature, and the modalities I use most are Cognitive behavior therapy, trauma informed, somatic experiencing, and person centered. These modalities help me provide a safe environment that helps you come to your own realizations, conclusions, process emotions, and help you become grounded in a place that aligns with your values.
Together, we can create a space that allows you to develop more emotional awareness and intelligence to help you become the person you want to be and build the community that you want. Using the trauma formed approach and strength-based approach will help you identify boundaries, process trauma, build confidence and improve interpersonal relationships.
Change is one of the hardest things a person can do. Every day your energy, effort, and motivation will change frequently and that’s okay. In those moments we have to practice being gentle with ourselves and understand that healing is a marathon and not a sprint. I look forward to working with you on your journey to wellness
