Resident in Counseling
[She/Her]
Greetings! My name is Mia Sebastian, and I am a recent university graduate who studied Clinical Mental Health Counseling.
I offer therapy services at our Reston, VA clinic. I have experience working in outpatient settings with adults from various backgrounds. Ultimately, my goal as a counselor is to create a safe, understanding, and judgment-free space for you to explore any issues you may be having. My experience working with individuals experiencing houselessness and substance use disorders has led me to use a holistic, strengths-based, and person-centered approach. Thus, I will act as a support system that helps guide you as you progress through your growth and healing journey.
I typically utilize a multimodal approach, drawing on several theories such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Transactional Analysis, and Acceptance Commitment Therapy to support growth in self-esteem, self-awareness, and self-actualization. Together, we can explore and develop a treatment plan that works best for you and your individual needs.
I personally believe that living involves being a lifelong student who is continuously learning, growing, and healing. Facing that journey alone can feel intimidating, which is why I strive to offer a space where you feel supported and empowered to grow at your own pace. I look forward to working with you as we walk through your journey of healing together.
