Anthony Carbone, LGPC, MS, MA

Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor

I am interested in working with LGBTQIA+ clients, neurodivergent clients (ASD and developmental disabilities), clients managing life transitions (grief, divorce, etc), clients who are navigating trauma, and I am interested in potentially working with couples and families. I am mostly interested in working with adults (18+) but am open to working with some teens/adolescents as well.

I specialize in helping clients develop coping strategies through the use of Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I am also interested in mindfulness based practices and some Internal Family Systems theory as well. I help clients by providing a safe and validating space, psychoeducation, and the opportunity to explore their emotional needs.

I am also a lecturer and teaches courses on Social Justice and Gender Studies within higher education. This lens helps me understand systemic oppression and how this impacts clients on an individual level as well.

My mission is to create a safe and inviting space where clients feel heard, valued, and understood. My approach is rooted in kindness, empathy, and a touch of humor. I believe that the therapeutic journey is a collaborative one, and together, we can navigate the path to a happier, more fulfilling life. Our sessions are open conversations, where you can share your thoughts and feelings without judgment. Whether folks are facing life transitions, relationship challenges, or just need someone to talk to, I’m here to listen and support them.

I bring a person-centered approach to counseling, tailoring my methods to your unique needs. By combining genuine curiosity, active listening, and evidence-based techniques, we’ll work together to uncover strengths, develop coping strategies, and foster positive change. I’ve had the pleasure of assisting diverse individuals on their journeys. My goal is not just to help you cope but to empower you to thrive in all aspects of your life.
