Augustine Ahenkorah, PMHNP-BC

Augustine Ahenkorah is a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP-BC) at our Arlington clinic who provides psychiatry services in-person and via telehealth.. He is devoted to offering mental health services of the highest caliber, caring, and comprehensive to children, adolescents, and adults. Augustine has excellent clinical abilities complemented by a natural ability to connect with patients and their families.

He adheres to recommendations based on evidence-based guidelines, clinical knowledge, and individual observation. Augustine plays various roles in his work as a PMHNP, including those of an educator and a mental health advocate.

In 2011, he began his profession as a certified nursing assistant. Augustine continued pursuing a career as a registered nurse and worked in different healthcare settings, including intermediate care, med surge, neuroscience, behavioral health, and crisis stabilization in several hospitals nationwide. He then received a Master of Science in Nursing and a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner at Wilkes University.

His training experiences in densely populated cities and remote, underserved places have stoked a commitment to provide quality mental health care service to everyone.

He specializes in the evaluation and treatment of mental, addictive, and emotional disorders such as post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), schizophrenia and other psychotic disorders, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, substance-related disorders, and adjustment disorders in Children (6 through 12 years), Adolescents (13 years through 17 years, Adults (18 years or older) and, Older adults (65 and older).

He exhibits respect and kindness in building open rapport with everyone. He enhances cultural competency and empathizes with people from various backgrounds.
